Our Process
Our Process: Simple, Safe, and Sustainable Medication Disposal
At Mail Back Meds, we make medication disposal effortless, secure, and environmentally responsible. Our streamlined process is designed to help you safely dispose of unused or expired medications with minimal effort while protecting your family, community, and the environment.
How It Works
Step 1: Order Your Envelope
Select the envelope quantity that best fits your needs. Our tamper-evident, pre-addressed envelopes come in a variety of packages (3-pack, 50-pack, 250-pack) based on your needs. We also offer custom bulk orders for larger programs (contact us for a quote).
Perfect for households, schools, libraries, and community programs.
Fully compliant with Title 21 CFR 1317.60 and certified by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Step 2: Fill Your Envelope
Place your unwanted or expired medications into the envelope following the instruction card (in both English and Spanish) that you'll find inside each bag. Our tamper-evident design ensures everything stays secure during transit.
Accepted Items: Most prescription and over-the-counter medications, including pills and capsules.
What’s Not Accepted: Liquids, inhalers, or sharps (needles)
Step 3: Mail It Back
Seal your envelope and drop it off at any USPS location – the prepaid label makes it completely hassle-free.
No additional postage required.
Fully secure and trackable.
Step 4: Track and Celebrate Your Impact
Once your envelope is mailed, you can use our secure portal to:
- Track Total Weight Destroyed: See the impact of your actions.
- View Program Results: Monitor your contributions to creating a safer community and a cleaner environment.
